❓ Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to the most common questions about Rise of Farms.

🌱 Getting Started

What is Rise of Farms?

Rise of Farms is an onchain farming simulation game where every seed, crop, and action is real, owned, and tradable. You plant seeds, harvest crops, and optimize your farm to earn XP, climb seasonal leaderboards, and compete for real $ rewards — all inside an open, player-driven economy.

How do I start playing?

To play Rise of Farms, you need to own a Farm NFT. Each farm comes with a unique NFT, and all XP is tied directly to it. Your farm starts with a 2×2 grid that expands as you earn XP.

What happens if I sell my Farm NFT?

Important: Selling your Farm NFT permanently transfers all XP, progress, and leaderboard position to the buyer. You're not leveling an account — you're growing an asset.

🌾 Farming & Crops

What crops can I grow?

There are 4 types of crops:

CropGrowth TimeXP/HarvestXP/h

🍅 Tomato4h25 XP6.25 XP/h
🌽 Corn6h40 XP6.67 XP/h
🌶️ Chili8h60 XP7.50 XP/h

Which crop is the best?

There's no single optimal crop — it depends on:

  • Current season (seasonal multipliers affect XP and growth time)
  • Market prices
  • Your playstyle (active vs passive)
  • Silo caps

How do I get seeds?

You can get seeds in two ways:

  1. Purchase seeds on the P2P marketplace from other players
  2. Craft seeds by burning crops (burning a crop always returns seeds of the same type)

What are seed variants?

Seeds have rare variants that provide bonuses:

VariantEffectProbability
🟢 BasicStandard growth and XP70%
⚡️ Speed20% faster growth time15%
💥 Yield2× XP yield15%

Seed bonuses stack with seasonal multipliers!

🗓️ Seasons

How do seasons work?

Rise of Farms runs on a 28-day cycle, split into four 7-day seasons:

  • 🌸 Spring
  • ☀️ Summer
  • 🍂 Fall
  • ❄️ Winter

Each season modifies crop growth times and XP rewards through multipliers.

🧪 Crafting

What can I craft?

You can craft two categories of items:

  1. Perks: Boosters and Fertilizers
  2. Seeds: By burning crops of the same type

What does a Booster do?

Boosters increase XP gained from a harvest by +80%. They are consumed on use and ideal for leaderboard pushes.

Recipe: 2 🥕 Carrot + 1 🍅 Tomato + 1 🌽 Corn

What does a Fertilizer do?

Fertilizers reduce crop growth time by 50%. They are consumed on use and ideal for tight timing windows.

Recipe: 1 🍅 Tomato + 2 🌽 Corn + 1 🌶️ Chili

How does crafting seeds work?

When you burn a crop:

  • You always get seeds of the same crop type
  • 70% chance → 1 seed, 30% chance → 2 seeds
  • Each seed rolls for variant independently (70% Basic, 15% Speed, 15% Yield)
🔥 Silos & Quests

What are silos?

Silos are a core economic sink where you can deposit (burn) crops to earn XP. Each season has 4 silos, one per crop type.

Is depositing in a silo permanent?

Yes! Depositing in a silo burns the crop permanently — it is removed from the game forever and cannot be recovered.

How much XP do I get from silos?

CropXP per Burn
🥕 Carrot6 XP
🍅 Tomato15 XP
🌽 Corn25 XP
🌶️ Chili40 XP

Note: Silo XP is less efficient than harvesting (about 60-70% efficiency) — silos are for converting excess crops, not replacing farming.

Are there limits on silo deposits?

Yes, there are two layers of caps:

Per-Player Daily Limits:
  • 🥕 Carrot: 150/day
  • 🍅 Tomato: 100/day
  • 🌽 Corn: 60/day
  • 🌶️ Chili: 30/day

Global Weekly Limits (once reached, silo closes):

  • 🥕 Carrot: 210,000
  • 🍅 Tomato: 140,000
  • 🌽 Corn: 84,000
  • 🌶️ Chili: 42,000

Do seasonal multipliers affect silo XP?

No. Seasonal multipliers only affect harvest XP, not silo XP.

🏪 Marketplace

How does the marketplace work?

The Rise of Farms Marketplace is a fully onchain, peer-to-peer trading hub. Every item is owned by another player, priced freely, and settled onchain. There are no NPCs, no fixed prices — the economy is entirely player-driven.

What currency is used for trading?

Coins in Rise of Farms are USDC, a stablecoin where 1 USDC = $1 USD. Unlike other cryptocurrencies that fluctuate, USDC maintains a stable value.

Are there trading fees?

Yes, all trades involving USDC have a 5% fee:

  • 3% goes to the Leaderboard Prize Pool
  • 2% goes to the Protocol

What items can I trade?

You can trade:

  • Seeds: Carrot, Tomato, Corn, Chili seeds (including variants)
  • Crops: Carrot, Tomato, Corn, Chili
  • Crafted Items: Boosters and Fertilizers

What is the License NFT?

The License NFT (coming soon) will enable fee-free item-to-item trades (e.g., Corn ↔ Tomato) without using coins as an intermediary. It's designed for high-frequency traders and arbitrageurs.

🏆 Leaderboard & Rewards

How does the leaderboard work?

Every 28-day cycle, all farms are ranked by XP earned during that month. The top 600 players receive rewards from the prize pool.

Does my XP reset?

  • Leaderboard XP resets every 28 days (everyone starts fresh each cycle)
  • Total Farm XP for grid expansion is permanent

How is the prize pool distributed?
